Chancel Choir Practice Resumes

The Chancel Choir will begin meeting again on Wednesday, September 1st at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Chancel Choir is let by Sue Bauche. Everyone is welcome!


Wedding Coordinator Wanted

Memorial UMC is in need of a wedding coordinator. This position requires a person to help the bride and groom prepare for their wedding in our Church. A list of job responsibilities and pay can be found in the office. If you are interested please contact Cindy Danieley at 760-6882 by September 15th.


Gospel Choir

The Gospel Choir will resume practices starting Sunday, September 12th at 7:30 a.m. (just a half hour before Church starts). The Gospel Choir is led by Alan Berry. We would love to add a few more voices to the choir. Come join us!


Safe Sactuary Training

September 9 - Safe Sanctuary Training will be held in Computer Lab T102 (in the technology building) at Mineral Area College from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. The $20 fee for the training will be paid by Children’s Ministry. Don’t miss this opportunity!  Help will be available for anyone who needs assistance with using the computers.  If you work with children, youth, or vulnerable adults at MUMC or the Growing Room Preschool, you must complete Safe Sanctuary training.  Contact Libby Medlin for further information,  756-4565.


God Was hHere and I Was Out to Lunch

Here is another opportunity for you to be involved in Adult Sunday School.  We will be starting a new class called “God Was Here & I Was Out To Lunch” by James W. Moore.  There are 15 lessons in this series.  That’s less than a four month commitment.  We will be finished before Christmas.  Please join this class starting September 12 in Room B200 at 9:00 a.m.


Disciple Class


Come join the Disciple Class on Thursday evenings, 6:00 p.m.
beginning September 16.  We will be studying the prophets and writings of Paul.  A sign-up list is in the office.  This helps us know the number of books to order.


R-U SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER?

Test your memory and help find a cure for Alzheimer’s at the same time.  This unique fund raiser that’s a cross between trivia and an SAT exam will be held Friday evening, September 19 at Memorial UMC sponsored by Camelot Nursing & Rehab Center.  Tables for 4 to 6 players $75.  Sponsorships available also at $50 and $100.  All funds go to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Louis Seiberlich will be the emcee and students from St. Joseph Catholic, St. Paul Lutheran and Lincoln Schools will be the challengers.  Silent Auction at 6:30 p.m. and game begins at 7:00 p.m.  Call 756-8911 to make reservations or information.
